Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Anti-Wrinkle Injections are an evidence based medicine used for the prevention of wrinkles, directly preventing the formation of wrinkles by relaxing targeted muscles. They provide a unique and medically proven way to minimise wrinkle formation. Regardless of your level of experience with this treatment, our skilled nurse will work with you to determine optimal treatment. We are passionate about working with you to provide a fantastic experience and a great outcome.

  • Glabella (Frown Lines)

Frown lines can develop over time due to repeated contraction of the glabellar muscle group, including the corrugator and procerus muscles, located between the eyebrows.

Treatment may be considered to reduce muscle activity in this area. A consultation is required to assess suitability and discuss potential risks, benefits and alternative options.

  • Frontalis (Forehead Lines)

Forehead Lines occur through concious and sub-concious raising of the eyebrows. This occurs many times throughout the day for the majority of life. The major muscle group is the Frontalis muscle, which extends from the top of the forehead to the eyebrows. Contraction of Frontalis results in forehead lines, wich become deep set wrinkels over time. Anti-Wrinkle Injections can result in a smoother forehead appearance, with decreased long term wrinkle formation.

  • Lateral Canthal Lines (Crows Feet)

Crows feet are the most commonly asked about treatment. Crows feet occur through regular contraction of Subocularis muscles, a ring of muscle that surrounds the eye socket. Repetitive contraction of this muscle causes crinkling of the skin at the edge of the eye, resulting in long term permanent skin wrinkling. Anti-Wrinkle injections provide the perfect option of Crows Feet treatment and prevention.

  • Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands. When administered in areas like the underarms, hands, or feet, they significantly reduce sweating. The procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and results can last between 4 to 12 months, depending on the individual. This treatment offers a safe and effective solution for managing hyperhidrosis, providing relief for those whose excessive sweating affects their daily life.

  • Other Areas Treated

    Brow Area
Injections may be used to address muscle activity contributing to forehead lines or brow position. Suitability and outcomes vary between individuals.

    Nasal Lines (“Bunny Lines”)
Lines that may appear on the sides of the nose during facial expression can be assessed during consultation to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

    Upper Lip (“Gummy Smile”)
In some cases, muscle activity of the upper lip may contribute to increased gum visibility when smiling. Treatment options may be discussed following clinical assessment.

    Lip Area (“Lip Flip”)
Treatment of the muscles around the upper lip may be considered to alter lip movement at rest or during expression.

    DAO (Depressor Anguli Oris)
This muscle influences the corners of the mouth. Treatment may be considered where muscle activity contributes to downward pull.

    Mentalis (Chin Area)
Muscle activity in the chin can contribute to textural changes when speaking or smiling. Treatment suitability will be assessed during consultation.

  • Risks, recovery, and aftercare

Dermal filler treatments carry risks, as with any injectable medical procedure. Common side effects may include swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness. More serious complications can occur, including rare but significant adverse events.

Recovery experience varies between patients and further review or treatment may sometimes be required. Risks, aftercare instructions, and alternative options are discussed during consultation as part of informed consent.
